PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that high school sports is not about the game itself and that victory cannot be placed on a scoreboard.  My job is to help boys become men, and basketball happens to be the tool I use.  I believe that trying your harderest in every game and practice is reflective of the man you will become.  The lessons learned as a team and working with others is far more important than the scoring of a basket.  I believe the players should act like gentlemen on and off the court, becuase that is also a big part of becoming a man.  I beleive true victory is when a young player can go out and play with passion, controlled aggresion and know inside that he gave his all for himself and his teammates.  Yet above all that, I believe that the players on my team should have a smile on their face and enjoy playing basketball.  They have been given an opportunity to play basketball with friends during their sophmore year and I would be pleased to know that they look back on their experience with a smile.

PAST TEAMS

2003-2004 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball

This team will always be signifigant becuase it was the first head coaching job of my life.  They were a each a challange to coach and we had many ups and downs through the season, but overall it was an awesome experience being with that group of young men.  My favorite memories include beating P.V. at home (which was part of a Red Bluff boys sweep that night), the bus rides with the kids and 'the mailbox.'  Thank you to the players, parents and to Coach Principal Gleason for how hard you played, your support and the overall positive experience.

2004-2005 Junior Varsity Boys Basketball

This team was especially enjoyable because of the family-like atmosphere that was present on a regular basis.  Because this group of kids had played basketball and other sports together for many years, they had a brotherhood and caring for each other that you would find in any group of winners or successful people.  My favorite memories will be: going 3-1 against the Chico schools, the numerous combacks, the snow-ball fight and the multiple incidences of wrong or backwards shorts.  Thank you to the players and parents for your hard work and supprot.
